CSIR-NIScPR Celebrates 84th CSIR Foundation Day

The CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR), New Delhi, celebrated the 84th CSIR Foundation Day at the AP Shinde Symposium Hall, NASC Complex, Todapur, Pusa, New Delhi, on 27 September 2025. The event brought together NIScPR staff, their families, AcSIR students, and distinguished guests to honour the enduring commitment of CSIR to science for society. Delivering an inspiring welcome address, Dr Geetha Vani Rayasam, Director, CSIR-NIScPR, reflected on CSIR’s 84-year legacy in promoting “Science for Society,” wherein she emphasised NIScPR’s pivotal role as a bridge between scientific knowledge and the public, fostering a culture of informed policy and effective science communication.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Venu Gopal Achanta, Director, CSIR-NPL, shared thought-provoking remarks on CSIR’s foundational role in advancing national development. Prof. Achanta underscored the significance of precision measurement, standards, and transformative technologies in powering modern industries. He also lauded CSIR’s contributions to the national vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Viksit Bharat,” inspiring the CSIR community to continually push the frontiers of knowledge. Prof. Achanta portrayed the importance of NIScPR in disseminating scientific developments among diverse stakeholders. 

The event also recognised CSIR-NIScPR’s retired employees who completed 25 years of dedicated service, as well as the academic achievements of employees’ wards in the 10th and 12th standard examinations. Dr Vipan Kumar, Chief Scientist, CSIR-NIScPR, extended his gratitude to all attendees during the vote of thanks. The celebrations featured a lively cultural function, prize distribution, and concluded with the national anthem.
