CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune, has won the ASSOCHAM 3rd IP Excellence Awards, 2024, as the Top Patent Driven Research Organisation. The award is based on factors inter alia number of patents granted, diversity in patent portfolio, rate and impact of technology commercialisation, contribution to SDG and efforts to improve the country's Intellectual Property (IP) ecosystem. The award was given in the 3rd IP Excellence Award ceremony as part of the Global IP Conclave held on 6 February 2024 in New Delhi.

The award was received by Dr Nitin Shukla, Head, Intellectual Property Group, CSIR-NCL, at the hands of Hon’ble Justice Mr Anish Dayal, Delhi High Court; Prof. Unnat P Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM), GOI; Mr John Cabeca, US IP Counsel for South Asia; Mr Hiroki Watanabe, Director IPR and Director IP Attache for South Asia, JETRO; Dr Shirshendu Mukherjee, Mission Director, Grand Challenges India, BIRAC; Dr Hemang Shah, Co-chairperson, ASSOCHAM IPR Council, India Engineering Lead, Qualcomm; and Mr Pravin Anand, Chairperson, ASSOCHAM National Council on IPR and Managing Partner, Anand and Anand.
