Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) S&T, visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu, on 29 January 2022 to inaugurate the newly developed facilities and inspect the upcoming new blocks. During the visit, the Hon’ble Minister also announced that CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu and AIIMS, Jammu, will work in close association.
In the spirit of intellectual cooperation, scholarly exchange, and the development of a fruitful partnership, CSIR-IIIM and AIIMS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on related matters of mutual interest that may emerge over time.
The purpose of the cooperation is to promote collaborative research, development and to facilitate the exchange of ideas, development of new knowledge, and to enhance high-quality research acumen. The major thrust areas of the understanding on which the parties will cooperate are:
a) Research and Development in the area of mutual interest
b) Undertaking collaborative projects
c) Skill and capacity-building/development
d) Dissemination of knowledge
e) Linkage with entrepreneurs & start-ups for joint mentoring and incubation.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister, between AIIMS Director, Dr Shakti Gupta and CSIR-IIIM Director, Dr D. Srinivasa Reddy.
