CSIR-NPL (National Physical Laboratory), New Delhi, is being celebrated its 75th Platinum Jubilee year which was inaugurated on 4 January 2022 by Dr Jitendra Singh Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science and Technology. The three-day programme from 4-6 January 2022 comprises various events including metrology conclave, science exhibition of school students, CSIR technology demonstration pavilion, MSME meet, stakeholder meeting on “Certification on Air Pollution Monitoring Equipments”, etc.
During the inaugural ceremony, the union minister released a Special Postage Stamp commemorating the 75th Platinum Jubilee year of the institute. Dr Jitendra Singh also dedicated the nation ‘LED Photometry Laboratory’ at CSIR-NPL. The ‘LED Photometry Laboratory’ system would be used to provide calibration and testing services based on internationally recognised measurement standards.
During his address, Dr Singh praised CSIR-NPL and other S&T departments for playing a huge role in fighting against COVID-19.
The Minister also released the BharatiyaNirdeshakDravya (BNDs) to strengthen the calibration labs for quality assurance at par with the international standards for high purity gold, silver and other elements.
In the other releases, Dr Jitendra Singh launched the Calibration Facility for Infusion Pump Analyzer and Certification Process for Indian Made Low-Volume PM2.5 Sampler fight pollution.
Director General CSIR Dr Shekhar C Mande, Director CSIR-NPL Professor Venugopal Achanta, Ashok Kumar, Postmaster General, Dr C Sharma, Senior Scientist, CSIR and other scientists, students and officials were part of the celebration.
